Lungs and chest

Imaging enables targeted access to abnormalities in the chest. Interventions are coordinated with respiratory medicine, oncology and thoracic surgery.

Tissue samples for diagnosis

One CT-guided Biopsy takes tissue from a conspicuous finding using a thin needle. The sample is then examined pathologically.

Local therapy

For selected lung tumors or Metastases a Thermal ablation may be considered. Liquid accumulations can be relieved via a Drainage if the indication is appropriate. For certain Bleeding, targeted vascular closure is possible.

Post-operation surveillance

Especially after a pulmonary puncture, attention is paid to a pneumothorax, i.e. air between Lung and chest wall. Also Bleeding or infections are possible. The scope and duration of the monitoring shall depend on the intervention.
